Gordon Lightfoot was a Canadian musician. He was, and remains, one of Canada's most iconic folk singers ever. His biggest hit is "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" which is a song about a shipwreck in Lake Superior which occured in the 1970s. My other favourite songs by him are "The Auctioneer" and "The Summer Side of Life!"
The Avett Brothers are an American folk-country band. They're basically crooners and their music is perfect for relaxing in the evening with. My favourite songs by them are "Pretty Girl from Chile," "I and Love and You," "Head Full of Doubt," and "Kick Drum Heart"

Canadian shantyman, Stan Rogers, was born in Hamilton Ontario but spent plenty of his childhood in Nova Scotia. His music is deeply inspired by the Maritime provinces. My favourite song by him is "Barrett's Privateers" and "The Mary Ellen Carter" is a close second!
